Meths made it 3 out of 3 on Saturday and go joint top of division C, alongside West Bowling. Meths, who lost the toss (again) were inserted (do they never learn!) and managed a respectable 179 due mostly to Gareth Llewellin's 72 and quite a few extras. Mossy also chipped in with a few at the start of the innings and Andy Wiseman playing a steady mid innings knock. Rain looked likely to spoil the chances of another win; however, the sun came out (could this have been due to the new Spanish influence?) and Meths took early wickets. However, Indians had a great partnership brewing so it was up to Skipper to come up with a plan. Cometh the hour, cometh the man was the cry as Goldenarm Bottomley snatched the bowl and looked angrier than normal at the two unsuspecting batsmen. They couldn't possibly have seen the movement or quality of bowling produced by Goldenarm in a spell which saw him take his first 5 wicket haul of the season. Big Bondy waded in also with a solid spell - seeing him take 2 wickets and a brilliant run out - no thanks to the throw Gaz! So onwards and upwards to next week where we face Mayfield away with the Leicester Ace - Pondy itching to add to his batting tally this year.
