Fiesta time for Meths as they make it 4 out of 4

On a showery day, the toss was key as it was clear that play was likely to be interupted. The game was on despite heavy rain for the previous day and night and all credit to Mayfield's ground staff for getting the game on.
As the captains walked out to toss up, there was a hush around the ground as if the spectators knew the importance of the decision by the winning captain. Skipper cried tails and sure enough, for the second time this year, he was right. Without a moments hesitation, he inserted the home team.
Meths got off to a steady start taking a couple of early wickets. Graham Bond took a couple of early wickets whilst at the other end Skipper was chipping away as wickets fell regularly. Goldenarm came on to follow G and as expected took wickets with consumate ease. Pondy took three catches in the match which almost made up for appalling error on the boundary earlier in the game. Still, he got the fielding point.
Mayfield's first innings came to an end leaving them on 51 all out and Skipper taking 5 for 17.

After the best tea so far, Mossy and Steady strode out looking to make hay whilst the sun shone down. Mossy was looking imperious at the crease until being run out due to the spectators suggesting he had more time than he did. Still, he took it well.....
Pondy came and went for 2 and Meths were wobbling, however, Butty entered the arena and finished the job off in style with a 6.
Onwards and upwards to next weeks big clash with West Bowling....
