After a nail biting victory last week over West Bowling, Meths are one match away from promotion to Division B.
"Bowling" won the toss and quite obviously had a plan of making sure they didn't lose, and inserted Meths. This was due to them knowing that even if they didn't chase down the runs, they could get a losing draw.
Meths batted well and posted an excellent total of 140 with the tail wagging effectively. Knowing this was too many, "Bowling" set out their stall to just bat 40 overs. However, an early wicket from Skipper saw their only batsman of any talent come out to the crease. A full ball from Skipper caught him out 1st ball and the umpire finally gave an LBW decision resulting in a golden duck.
The middle order dug deep; however, wickets kept falling and when "happy" fell to a great ball from Gaz, it looked like Meths were in with a sniff.
With only 2 overs to go, meths sealed the full 6 points with Paul Jacques taking a stunning catch...
Promotion is in Meths hands now and hopefully, Saturday will see them clinch it with a win over YMCA.
